These Cajun Chicken Sloppy Joes are a spicy, savory twist on a classic. Packed with bold flavor and ready in under 30 minutes, they’re perfect for weeknights or game day.

  • 1 lb ground chicken (93% lean)

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 1 red bell pepper, diced

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1.5 tbsp Cajun seasoning

  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)

  • 1 cup tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp brown sugar (optional)

  • 12 tbsp water or broth (as needed)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Buns for serving

  • Optional toppings: pickles, cheese, slaw, hot sauce

Instructions

  • Heat oil in skillet. Sauté onion and bell pepper 5–6 minutes.

  • Add garlic and ground chicken. Cook until browned, 6–7 minutes.

  • Stir in Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  • Add tomato sauce, Worcestershire, brown sugar, and water. Simmer 5–10 minutes.

  • Toast buns and spoon filling on top. Add optional toppings and serve hot.
