A comforting and cheesy hamburger rice casserole packed with seasoned ground beef, creamy sauce, and melty cheddar — perfect for family dinners or make-ahead meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 cups cooked white rice

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can tomato sauce or condensed tomato soup

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom or cheddar soup

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp pepper

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided

  • Optional: ¼ cup water or broth if needed

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • In a skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.

  • Add onion and garlic; sauté until translucent.

  • Stir in tomato sauce, cream soup, seasonings, and a splash of broth. Simmer for 5 minutes.

  • Mix in cooked rice and half of the cheese.

  • Pour into a greased 9×13 baking dish. Top with remaining cheese.

  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, until bubbly and golden.

  • Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
