A comforting and cheesy hamburger rice casserole packed with seasoned ground beef, creamy sauce, and melty cheddar — perfect for family dinners or make-ahead meals.
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups cooked white rice
1 (10.5 oz) can tomato sauce or condensed tomato soup
1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom or cheddar soup
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
Optional: ¼ cup water or broth if needed
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
Add onion and garlic; sauté until translucent.
Stir in tomato sauce, cream soup, seasonings, and a splash of broth. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Mix in cooked rice and half of the cheese.
Pour into a greased 9×13 baking dish. Top with remaining cheese.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
