A fast, flavorful stir-fry with tender beef, crisp broccoli, and a savory-sweet garlic soy sauce — better than takeout and ready in 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank or sirloin steak, thinly sliced

  • 3 cups broccoli florets

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated

  • 1 tbsp neutral oil

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (for marinade)

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (for marinade)

  • 1 tsp cornstarch (for marinade)

  • ½ tsp sesame oil (for marinade)

Sauce:

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • ¼ cup water or beef broth

  • ½ tsp sesame oil

  • 1 tsp cornstarch

Instructions

  • Marinate beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch for 15–20 minutes.

  • Blanch broccoli in boiling water for 2 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  • Whisk together all sauce ingredients in a bowl.

  • Heat oil in skillet. Stir-fry beef until browned; remove and set aside.

  • Sauté garlic and ginger. Add broccoli and cook briefly.

  • Return beef to pan. Pour in sauce and stir until thickened.

  • Garnish and serve hot over rice or noodles.
