A bold, spicy twist on the classic Sloppy Joe — this Cajun-style version features ground chicken, peppers, garlic, and a zesty sauce piled high on toasted buns.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 yellow onion, diced

  • 1 bell pepper, diced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1½ tsp Cajun seasoning

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • 1½ tbsp tomato paste

  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar (optional)

  • 4 sandwich buns, toasted

Instructions

  • In a skillet, sauté onion and bell pepper in oil until soft, 5–6 minutes.

  • Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.

  • Add ground chicken, season, and brown for 6–8 minutes.

  • Stir in tomato paste, sauce, sugar, Worcestershire, and vinegar. Simmer 5–7 minutes.

  • Toast buns and spoon filling on top. Add desired toppings and serve hot.
