A bold, spicy twist on the classic Sloppy Joe — this Cajun-style version features ground chicken, peppers, garlic, and a zesty sauce piled high on toasted buns.
1 lb ground chicken
1 tbsp olive oil
1 yellow onion, diced
1 bell pepper, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1½ tsp Cajun seasoning
Salt and black pepper to taste
1½ tbsp tomato paste
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp apple cider vinegar (optional)
4 sandwich buns, toasted
In a skillet, sauté onion and bell pepper in oil until soft, 5–6 minutes.
Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
Add ground chicken, season, and brown for 6–8 minutes.
Stir in tomato paste, sauce, sugar, Worcestershire, and vinegar. Simmer 5–7 minutes.
Toast buns and spoon filling on top. Add desired toppings and serve hot.
