A quick and healthy pasta dish featuring tender broccoli, garlic, olive oil, and lemon. Simple, satisfying, and ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz whole wheat or regular pasta

  • 3 cups broccoli florets

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp lemon zest

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • ¼ cup grated parmesan (optional)

  • Optional: crushed red pepper, fresh herbs

Instructions

  • Boil pasta in salted water according to package. Add broccoli during last 3–4 minutes. Drain, reserving ½ cup pasta water.

  • In a skillet, heat olive oil. Sauté garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.

  • Add pasta and broccoli. Toss with lemon juice, zest, and pasta water as needed.

  • Season with salt, pepper, and cheese if using.

  • Serve warm, garnished with herbs and extra lemon.
