A quick and healthy pasta dish featuring tender broccoli, garlic, olive oil, and lemon. Simple, satisfying, and ready in under 30 minutes.
8 oz whole wheat or regular pasta
3 cups broccoli florets
2 tbsp olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp lemon zest
Salt and pepper, to taste
¼ cup grated parmesan (optional)
Optional: crushed red pepper, fresh herbs
Boil pasta in salted water according to package. Add broccoli during last 3–4 minutes. Drain, reserving ½ cup pasta water.
In a skillet, heat olive oil. Sauté garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add pasta and broccoli. Toss with lemon juice, zest, and pasta water as needed.
Season with salt, pepper, and cheese if using.
Serve warm, garnished with herbs and extra lemon.
