A cheesy, hearty one-skillet meal with tender tortellini, seasoned beef, marinara sauce, and melty mozzarella. The perfect weeknight comfort dinner baked to bubbly perfection.
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
1/2 cup water or beef broth
1 (20 oz) package cheese tortellini
1.5–2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan (optional)
1 tbsp olive oil
Preheat oven to 400°F.
In oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil. Brown ground beef with onion until cooked. Drain grease.
Add garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook 1 minute.
Stir in marinara sauce, broth, and tortellini. Bring to a simmer.
Cover and simmer 10–12 minutes, until tortellini are tender.
Top with mozzarella and Parmesan. Bake 10 minutes uncovered, or until bubbly.
Broil 2 minutes if desired. Let rest before serving.
