A cheesy, hearty one-skillet meal with tender tortellini, seasoned beef, marinara sauce, and melty mozzarella. The perfect weeknight comfort dinner baked to bubbly perfection.

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce

  • 1/2 cup water or beef broth

  • 1 (20 oz) package cheese tortellini

  • 1.52 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan (optional)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.

  • In oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil. Brown ground beef with onion until cooked. Drain grease.

  • Add garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook 1 minute.

  • Stir in marinara sauce, broth, and tortellini. Bring to a simmer.

  • Cover and simmer 10–12 minutes, until tortellini are tender.

  • Top with mozzarella and Parmesan. Bake 10 minutes uncovered, or until bubbly.

  • Broil 2 minutes if desired. Let rest before serving.
