1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 (28–32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: ¼ cup milk or broth (to loosen filling)
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Brown ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium heat. Drain fat and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Stir in mushroom soup and frozen vegetables. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
Spread meat mixture into prepared dish. Top with shredded cheese.
Arrange tater tots evenly over the top in a single layer.
Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until tots are golden and crispy.
