A comforting casserole with layers of seasoned ground beef, creamy mushroom sauce, cheese, and golden tater tots. Easy to make, family-friendly, and perfect for any night of the week.

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup

  • 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables

  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 (28–32 oz) bag frozen tater tots

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional: ¼ cup milk or broth (to loosen filling)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  • Brown ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium heat. Drain fat and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  • Stir in mushroom soup and frozen vegetables. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.

  • Spread meat mixture into prepared dish. Top with shredded cheese.

  • Arrange tater tots evenly over the top in a single layer.

  • Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until tots are golden and crispy.

  • Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving.
